ECMS - easy content management system

ECMS is a simple content management system. It's simplicity sets no constrains for your website design.

News
  • 2008-04-05 - I stopped usage of ECMS and thus it is not supported anymore. If you are interested you are free to look at the code and ask me some questions, but I won't maintain it anymore.
  • 2005-11-12 - I have rewritten main parts of the entry name handling. The entry isn't more than a filename now (with it's root in the $data_dir). I also removed ExtLink Entity (it's just a simple template). I also removed GDBM as state database and implemented a file based state handlin instead. It feels a little bit faster but it created a lot of files. Sadly the Documentation is a little bit outdated.
  • 2005-11-08 - Realized i have to rewrite ECMS a little bit.
  • 2005-09-17 - Implemented a redirector entity.
  • 2005-09-08 - Implemented CommentBoard entity, still need to document it.
  • 2005-09-07 - I changed the edit-system a bit and fixed some minor bugs.

Features:
  • it has a integraged template engine
  • opnly a very few lines (~ 1000) of perl code
  • no other dependencies than a standart perl5 installation
  • on the webserver
  • The ability to evaluate perl code in a website to extend
  • the Template capabilities.
  • an file uploader and manager
  • "in place editing"
  • an integrated simple comment-board system

ECMS is not:
  • A CMS that allows you to have custom Forms in a HTML site
  • A multi user content management system
  • Something that will make you dinner and coffe

ECMS is:
  • A simple solution to a simple problem
  • An alternative to static html pages
  • Fun to use (at least for me)

You may take a look at the Documentation
You can Download ECMS here: ecms-1.6.tar.bz2

If there is anyone really interested in this, i will be happy to write some lines about installation and how to actually use it. Just contact me.
And here is a screenshot of ECMS in editmode. Note the blue boxes, which sorround an content entity. The links in the yellow boxes will jump right into the Editor and let you edit that content. Here is the Editor, on the left is the entity selector, and on the right the textarea to edit the content.
